About

Hi, I’m Liv. I’m the author of The Outdoors Fix book, the host of the chart-topping podcast, The Outdoors Fix, and a digital producer for Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4.

Here’s what I do:

  • Present a podcast (The Outdoors Fix podcast) and host live podcast events and workshops (Spotify, London Mountain Film Festival, Love Her Wild Festival)

  • Host and interview authors at festivals (Raynor Winn at Timber Festival, Christian Lewis at Cheltenham Literature Festival)

  • Produce podcasts (The Outdoors Fix, Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4)

  • Write articles and blog posts on travel, adventure and the outdoors. (Telegraph Travel, The Evening Standard, Adventure Travel magazine, The Great Outdoors magazine)

  • Produce, film and edit digital videos and manage video teams. (The Telegraph, Woman’s Hour, CNN)

  • Produce radio (Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4)

  • Manage large social media accounts for organisations (eg. Woman’s Hour’s Instagram account)

I’ve worked for national and international broadcasters (BBC News, BBC Radio 4, CNN), online newspapers (The Telegraph, The Times), podcasts (Woman’s Hour and Fashion Fix on BBC Sounds) and outdoors magazines (Adventure Travel magazine and The Great Outdoors magazine).

I set up The Outdoors Fix podcast and the stories and tips from it have now been published as a book, published by Vertebrate Publishing. The book and podcast aim to inspire people to make the outdoors a bigger part of their life. The idea was sparked by my 1300km thru-hike of the South Island of New Zealand in 2018. The podcast has reached No.1 on the Apple Podcasts Wilderness chart several times.

The outdoors has so many physical and mental health benefits and through my work I want to encourage as many people as possible to get outside and live adventurously. I’ve produced seven series of the podcast so far and gained a large, loyal following of muddy, hiking-booted listeners.

I’ve worked in video journalism for nine years, managing teams as well as producing, filming and editing news and current affairs videos. I managed the news video team at The Telegraph and also did so at CNN. Two of my CNN team’s projects were nominated for Emmy and Webby awards. My video team at The Telegraph won Video Team of the Year at the Drum Awards in 2021.

Hiking, rock climbing and being in nature are things that make me truly happy and I hope that I’m spreading the message about how good the outdoors can make you feel through my book and podcast.
